The Racebikes section features some of the great racing motorcycles, both old and new. The classic collection covers many of the mythical machines which have been captivating racegoers for decades. The TT, in particular, has served up an endless feast of feats of derring-do. These bikes inspire awe and adulation in equal measure. Their speed is matched only by their beauty - metal and paint blended to perfection by craftsmen of the highest calibre.

More modern machines, too, are duly detailed. Many of them forge a link between the robust racers of yesteryear and the more fragile divas of today. With a foot in both camps, as it were, they are a tantalising merger of engineering and styles. The era of Barry Sheene et al., for example, is emotive to the point of intoxication. The joy of seeing these machines circulate round a racetrack is enhanced only by the aural delights that their exhausts emit. It is enough to make one 'green' with envy!

More recent racers are rightly recorded. When regulations were required to slow racebikes down, it was clear that a turning-point had been reached! The brain is not configured to deal with the forces such machines exert - which is why the few human beings able to tame them secure the status of supermen. Yet these marvels of modernity will, in due course, become tomorrow's classic racers, supplanted by the latest projects from racing's visionaries.
